Welcome from the Headteacher

A very warm welcome to Canaan Lane Primary School. I am incredibly proud to be Headteacher of our vibrant and ambitious learning community of children, staff and families.  Together we are committed to creating a school where children are excited to learn, encouraged to be curious and confident to ask questions, try new things and discover what they can achieve.

We believe learning should spark curiosity and creativity. We aim to provide rich, meaningful experiences that encourage children to explore, investigate, create and problem-solve, making connections in their learning along the way. Our learning environments are an important part of this, providing opportunities for children to develop independence, collaborate with others and follow their interests and ideas.

Alongside this, we have high expectations for every learner, while recognising that children learn in different ways and at different times. Through strong relationships, responsive teaching and the right balance of support and challenge, we want every child to make progress, experience success and develop confidence in themselves as a learner.

Underpinning all of this is our Canaan Lane Way – the shared routines, relationships and expectations that bring consistency to school life and help our children understand what it means to learn, work and play together at Canaan Lane.

We are fortunate to have wonderfully enthusiastic children, a dedicated staff team and supportive families who work together to make Canaan Lane such a positive place to learn and grow.
