Our Curriculum, and the way in which we deliver it, has been designed to instil a passion for learning in all our learners and to equip them for successful lives beyond our walls – hopefully opening doors to the future of their choice – whatever that may be!
Our Curriculum is intended to teach learners the essential knowledge they need in all subject areas , however we consider the Health & Wellbeing development of our learners to be our biggest priority. Whilst “A Curriculum for Excellence”, Scotland’s National Curriculum, provides learners with an excellent foundation for learning, our Curriculum goes way beyond this. It represents the framework through which we impart the core body of knowledge that we believe our learners will need. Our ambition is for all pupils to develop a full appreciation of the world in which they are growing up and to feel a sense of awe and wonder about the vastness of human creativity and achievement.
We recognise that academic achievement alone is not enough, and provide a range of opportunities for personal and wider achievements, as well as an ambitious academic curriculum. These are underpinned by our school mission to:
Nurture lifelong learners who are confident and ready to embrace the opportunities and challenges of the outside world.
