At Canaan Lane Primary School, our school lunches are provided by Edinburgh Catering Services. The catering service is committed to supplying nutritionally balanced lunches, and use local suppliers to provide our fresh fruit, fresh meat, vegetables, bakery goods and milk.
All of our menus offer a carefully comprised mix of nutritional and tasty food, which is compliant to government legislation. We also take special care to ensure pupils, staff and visitors with dietary requirements are catered for.
In our school kitchen, all of our food is freshly prepared every day by our onsite catering team. They are committed to helping to develop great eating habits in our pupils by providing nutritious, tasty and tantalising dishes of current food favourites. Our cooks ensure there is a wide selection of seasonal fruit, vegetables and salads will be available every day. They make lovely freshly baked bread and our daily homemade soups are filled with lots of yummy hidden vegetables.

Ordering school lunches
All children in P1-P5 are entitled to a free school meal every day. These can be ordered weekly or in a block. All orders need to be received by 10pm on Wednesday for the following week. The school uses the Parent Pay system to manage the orders.
